Update: After GenCon, Progress with the Blog, and Looking for Reader Input

Not really relevant, but who doesn't like a Kazak sectorial logo with their Pride of Rodina blog post?

GenCon's now over and it's time to get back to cooking!

As some of you may or may not have noticed, I've been very quiet as of late while I was trying to prepare for GenCon and get all kinds of stuff done; however, I'm back in full force now and will start my regular schedule of blogging soon. P.S. GenCon was fun and if you'd like the full rundown, feel free to ask me on the foroums, through Facebook, or shoot me an email! I also took notes throughout most of the GenCon seminar (which you can find here in a Google Doc), which you might want to check out if you haven't yet.

First, I would like to draw everyone's attention to the growth of the blog. I started it in January of this year (2016) with 114 page views in the month. Last month we had 1,001 page views, holy crap! Over all, the blog has received 3,297 page views over it's existence and I'm quite glad. With 21 posts on the blog, it's been a pleasure writing at you people and seeing all of the reactions (good and bad). I also think it's been incredible how well this blog has been doing while I've been dividing my attention between this one and Midwest Wargaming.

Also, for those of you who haven't noticed yet, I haven't really done a lot of pictures of my own models lately nor any battle reports. I'm hoping to start doing some more hobby related stuff soon (I keep forgetting to take pictures while I paint! I just like to get it all done at once) as well as doing some more battle reports (a wee bit tough to do when I rarely get to play nowadays). Expect to see those coming in the near future, along with a new section I like to call "Love Letters" (I'll explain this later) and hopefully some more 'tacticas'. It did hit me while I was working on the USARF one that it really wasn't much of a tactica as it was more of a unit analysis, so I plan on reprimanding that soon by doing three parts per sectorial now, instead of just two. I also plan on doing these tacticas for every sectorial I play (sorry Vanilla, you're good enough without needing my help), so expect to see some JSA, Bakunin, Hassassins, and others in the future as well.

Lastly, I'd like to call out to all of my readers and ask them to help me grow the blog here. I've been tossing up some ideas and I'd like to know what everyone thinks:
  1. Adding advertising
    • I've been debating on this for a while now. I'm personally not a big fan of it, but I spend many hours working on typing these articles and it cuts into my personal quite a bit at times, so making some profit would be nice. At the same time, I'm worried how it will affect the appearance of the blog and how people perceive it
  2. Starting up a Facebook page
    • Pretty common in the blogging frontier. Easy way to have readers united in one location to interact with me and others in a more personal way and it makes it a whole lot easier to keep everyone updated when I post new things without having to post literally every where.
  3. Current state of the blog
    • I'd like some honest opinions on layout, appearance, quality of current writing, and what everyone likes to read. I get the general gist from statistics, but I'd like to hear from people individually how they like everything, how they like the different series of articles I write, and how it all looks.
  4. WordPress
    • When I frist started this blog, I never knew WordPress even existed. After having some experience with it, I actually prefer it more than Blogspot for sure! How would all of you feel if I started to change the blog over to WordPress instead? Don't worry,  I'd move over all of the old posts and what nots, so nothing would be lost!

That's it for now folks. As stated earlier, expect a regular schedule soon and please let me know what you think about the four topics above!
